what can I do with MapWith.Us Mobile?

If you can see it or hear it, now you can map it.

MapWith.Us Mobile lets you upload pictures, audio, video, and text annotations to your maps on the Web. The application uses your phone's built in GPS to assemble your various media into map articles based on time and location.

By making use of MapWith.Us's new subscription services, users can also participate in community driven maps based on news, events, and other information.

Getting Started:

iPhone Users

DOWNLOAD: Visit Apple's iTunes App Store either from your iPhone or from a computer with iTunes installed. Search for MapWith.Us, then download and install the free application as you would any other application for iPhone.

Alternatively, follow this link if you have iTunes installed.

SETUP: Tap your iPhone's Settings icon to access your iPhone preferences. Select MapWith.Us from the list, then input your MapWith.Us username and mobile key to associate the application with your MapWith.Us account.

Note: You must register on the Web.

UPLOADING: From your iPhone's main screen, tap the MapWith.Us icon to run the application.

Tap the Publish tab and choose the map you want to publish to. (If you don't select a map, or you do not have a map, one is automatically created for you during your first upload.)

Next, tap the Location tab to fetch or select your upload location.

Then tap the Media tab to take or select a photo, audio or text for upload. Confirm your media upload when prompted.

Finally, tap the Upload tab to monitor your upload progress.

BlackBerry Users

DOWNLOAD: Using the Web browser on your mobile phone, simply navigate to the following Web site:

http://m.mapwith.us

Your device platform will be detected and you will be given a download link to the best version of the mobile application for your phone.

Click the link to download and install the application.

SETUP: Run the MapWith.Us mobile application from the applications menu on your phone. Navigate to the Settings page and enter your MapWith.Us username and mobile key to associate the application with your MapWith.Us account.

Note: You must register on the Web.

UPLOADING: Navigate to the Maps menu or the Subscriptions menu to choose the map you want to publish to. (If you don't select a map, or you do not have a map, one is automatically created for you during your first upload.)

Then use the options for location detection, photo, audio, video and text input to select various media.

Finally, upload the chosen media to the MapWith.Us map you selected.
